About the State Library
The State Library of New South Wales is one of Australia’s oldest and most important public institutions. Collecting actively since 1826, the Library preserves and presents the social, cultural and scientific history of our State and our Nation for the benefit of all. Its rich collections, both physical and digital, alongside partnerships with the public library network across NSW and other vibrant collaborations enable Australians to examine their past and imagine their future. The State Library of NSW Foundation leads a diversified and sustainable philanthropic program to support the mission of the State Library of NSW. The Foundation takes a leading role in building and maintaining strong relationships between the Library and its Friends and supporters, donors, and business partners.
About the Role
We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer to provide high-level business and engagement support for private benefaction programs of the State Library of NSW Foundation.
Since 2017 the Foundation has provided significant funding to the State Library to establish the Michael Crouch Family galleries, the Ainsworth Conservation laboratory, Maps rooms, Children’s Library and the forthcoming Photography gallery.

Knowledge and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrated high-level administrative experience
- Highly developed relationship management skills
- Significant experience maintaining a client base database (CRM)
- An interest in the cultural sector
