About the Role

 

 

An opportunity exists for a Data Engineer to work as a key member of an existing high functioning Data Team, who work dynamically to meet the data and analytical needs of the organisation. You will play a key role in designing, enhancing and maintaining a high quality and scalable data infrastructure that is fit for both the current and future needs of the organisation. You will be responsible for using your extensive domain knowledge to extract, cleanse, process, load, and automate data collection from multiple sources into our data warehouse. You will also be responsible for the design, creation and maintenance of the data models and data architecture to best service the front-end business intelligence requirements of the business. Alongside these primary functions, the role will also be responsible for the duties required of a data analyst – seeking to conceptualise problems, acquiring information, documenting definitions and business processes, and assisting the front-end team to build reports and business intelligence tools to draw meaningful insights from our data.

Essential Criteria

     * 3+ years in a data engineering role or equivalent

     * 3+ years of experience working with large databases in complex environments

     * Strong knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, database design methodologies, master data management principles and development of data flows

     * Experience in database and data warehouse design

     * Experience in working with APIs

     * Experience with ETL and ETL processes and tools

     * SQL programming experience is essential

     * Innovative and analytical mind with problem-solving capability

     * Manage stakeholder expectations in terms of deliverables

     * Attention to detail, maintaining high accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced environment

     * Time management and organisational skills, which deliver the greatest value to the business

     * SQL Server experience including SSMS and SSIS preferred

     * Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau or Qlik) is DESIRABLE

     * Experience with cloud-based servers (Azure preferred) is DESIRABLE

     * Experience in analysing different type of datasets and generating insightful information is DESIRABLE
