About the role
The Philanthropy Coordinator will bring passion, drive and a genuine “can-do” attitude with exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills.
You’ll be expected to coordinate the individual and corporate relationships from end-to-end, from identifying new supporters and taking them on the supporter journey, to coordinating major donor events and receipting. You will take on a well-established portfolio of long-term supporters and cultivate new relationships. You will be responsible for maintaining and establishing long lasting and deep relationships with donors.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and engage in quality relationships with major donors, corporates, and prospects.
- Work closely with the Head of Fundraising to prepare an annual pipeline to ensure a planned, strategic approach to account management and that income growth is achieved in line with annually agreed targets, objectives, and activities.
- Generate fundraising revenue to meet annually agreed income targets and report on monthly and quarterly targets.
- Extensive personal interaction with a portfolio of major donors, corporates, and prospects.
- Manage tailored and personalized donor engagement plans to provide an exceptional giving experience for supporters. This includes the creation of reports, proposals, video, and any other materials.
- Identify, write, and submit applications to raise funds from charitable Trusts and Foundations grants.
- Identify funding opportunities from the broad range of activities undertaken by School for Life and work with specific team members to develop cases of support that are appropriate to the needs and interests of potential funders.
- Develop a corporate partnership strategy and tactics for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of corporate partners.
- Develop and implement a detailed prospect identification and development strategy focusing on approaches to converting prospects to confirmed major donors.
- Research and produce profiles on individuals and organisations to better identify prospects for significant high-level gifts.
- Coordinate the major donor calendar of events and lead the event coordination and messaging to foster commitment from current and potential key supporters.
- Integrate and grow School for Life’s bequest program.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of data of confirmed and potential prospects and current donors is in Salesforce.
- Updating CRM with all supporter interactions including recording, tracking, and reporting on donor activity and information.
- Keep up to date with innovations relating to relationship management and philanthropy.
- Act as a representative for School for Life where required.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has 2+ years’ experience in a similar role preferably within the non-profit sector. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
- Commitment to School for Life’s vision and values.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the demonstrated ability to build relationships, manage a portfolio and generate revenue.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience communicating to a diversity of audiences including major donors, corporate representatives, Board members, staff and volunteers.
- High quality writing abilities in developing proposals and other materials.
- Excellent multi-tasking, planning and organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency with personal computers including MS Office including spreadsheets, Google Suite and familiarity with databases like Salesforce.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working within a Philanthropy team.
- Experience using Salesforce for managing relationships.
- Established connections and networks.
- Demonstrated major gift fundraising expertise with experience in face-to-face solicitations, portfolio management and the preparation of proposals and reports.
