The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 2010 to undertake the accreditation of nursing and midwifery programs leading to registration as a nurse or midwife.

ANMAC is a national body responsible for setting and maintaining standards of nursing and midwifery education, registration and practice in Australia. They are committed to improving health outcomes for all Australians and to ensuring that our nursing and midwifery workforce is competent, safe and accountable. ANMAC have 3 key business streams:

  • Assess the skills of nurses and midwives who want to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category
  • Provide executive and secretariat support to the Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council (AOAC)
  • Provide services to Health Education Services Australia (HESA) which provides services to the health education sector

About the role

This position offers a highly experienced Executive Officer the opportunity to advance their career, or an experienced Company Secretary/Governance Manager to take on an interesting and fast-paced new role. This is a key role within ANMAC and will play a critical part in supporting the Board and CEO and various committees. The Company Secretary is the governance specialist and will advise the board on best practice corporate governance, as well as implement and execute policies. This role is paramount to ensuring the effectiveness of the Board of Directors and Board Committees and is accountable for the secretariat function. Duties would include:

  • Provide professional secretariat support to the Boards and Committees of ANMAC, AOAC and HESA, including advising the Boards and their committees on governance matters, coordinating the timely completion and dispatch of board and committee papers, and helping to organise and facilitate the induction and professional development of directors
  • Overseeing company compliance programs and ensuring all company legislative obligations are met
  • Development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of compliance policies, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare and coordinate confidential documentation to support the Board and Committee work programs, including conducting research for briefings and background notes as required

The Ideal Person

This role requires someone that can really come in and make it their own! You aren’t phased by fast-paced environments and tight deadlines, and you write with prose, finesse and with ease. You are highly organised and have superior stakeholder engagement, able to influence and negotiate successfully. In addition, you will have:

  • Company secretarial experience, AHPRA regulated well-regarded but not essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in law (preferable) and/or business/commerce and/or equivalent extensive experience relevant to the role of a Company Secretary or Executive Officer role
  • Understanding of governance and compliance and demonstrated ability to identify and execute process improvement initiatives and framework
  • Superior stakeholder engagement coupled with highly professional communication and the ability to influence effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Interstate travel may be required on an occasional basis to fulfil the duties

Salary/Rate

  • $110k – $130k + 12% Super
  • Majura Park location, subsidised parking
  • 3 year fixed-term contract
  • WFH options may be considered after demonstrated success in the role
