About the organisation
Aboriginal Housing Victoria (AHV) is an Aboriginal community organisation that owns and manages over 1,600 rental properties for Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander people living in Victoria. Our vision is to ensure that Aboriginal Victorians secure appropriate, affordable housing as a pathway to better lives and stronger communities.
AHV is the largest Aboriginal Registered Housing Agency in Australia and the lead agency for Victoria’s Aboriginal housing and homelessness policy, Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort. As the housing and homeless policy lead in the Victorian Aboriginal community, AHV has responsibility to work in partnership with the Government to secure the resources and reforms to implement the policy, while we support sector development to empower Victoria’s Aboriginal community to determine its chosen housing future.

About the role
The Assets and Development division’s role is to lead the development and implementation of asset growth and management strategies that align with and inform AHV’s strategic direction, developing and maintaining high quality policies, systems and practices to achieve optimal return on investment and effectively deploy AHV’s social housing assets. The Division is responsible for a range of total asset management functions that include asset strategy and planning, property developments and acquisitions, asset recycling and operational and capital maintenance.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Assets and Development is a key member of the Executive Management Group with 4 direct reports and an overall team of about 20 staff; and has a significant role in formulating advice to the Board and the Asset Committee to inform their decisions on asset development and preservation of the value of stock.
