About the role
The Opportunity
The Family Services Team Leader reports to the Community Wellbeing and Inclusion Coordinator and sits within the broader Community Care and Active Living business unit.
The Family Services Team Leader provides leadership and support to the Family Services team and engages actively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, allied health services, community agencies and community members. This position oversees the delivery Integrated Family Services program and ensures that activities are delivered in accordance and compliance with State-funded service agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development and delivery of Integrated Family Services program including formulation of relevant policy and program guidelines, identifying and planning for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide effective leadership and support to the Family Services team, including the provision of regular staff supervision, staff development activities and team meetings.
- Monitor and ensure that all funding compliances associated with the delivery of the program are maintained. This includes service standards and targets, data collection and reporting requirements are fully compliant.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, community agencies and the community.
- Participate in relevant networks and working groups to share information and contribute to the development of relevant strategies and priorities.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other relevant Human Services/Community Services degree with several years of subsequent relevant experience working in related discipline or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive understanding of case management model and strengths-based approach when supporting families to build capacity and resilience, and promoting children’s safety, wellbeing, and development.
- Experience in leading, supporting and providing directions to staff in delivering programs and activities.
- Understanding of the obligations and requirements in the delivery of Family Services programs under State Government funding service agreements including the monitoring and allocation of financial budgets.
- Current and valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Driver’s Licence
