The purpose of the Team Leader position is to support the Program Manager in delivery and performance of the program through the leadership and management of a team and case management activities and in doing so ensure the review and development of both OzChild and DFFH policy and practice guidelines for the effective delivery of high-quality services to children and young people, their families and to carers/volunteers. Enhance practice and service quality through policy and program development. Provide leadership support and supervision to team leadership in a complex and demanding environment.

Leadership can mean many things to different people. One good definition of an effective leader is a person who creates an inspiring vision of the future, motivates and inspires people to engage with that vision, manages delivery of the vision, & coaches & builds a team, so that it is more effective at achieving the vision.

This does not mean you have to be an extrovert or a people-person to be a leader – there are many excellent leaders who self-identify as introverts! Rather, it means being able to demonstrate empathy, engaging in active listening & building meaningful working relationships with those around you, whether they are a peer or a direct report.

Being a good leader means being open to new ideas, possibilities & perspectives & understanding that there’s no “right” way to do things. Essential requirements 
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psych or a related field

• SCHCADS award level 7.1 – 7.3   $ 110,912.88 –  $ 115,536.72 plus super (negotiable upon experience)
