The role provides a unique opportunity for you to work across multiple programs and engage with diverse stakeholders in the social enterprise sector. It will suit an experienced program manager who loves managing multiple initiatives and is comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage programs at the Social Impact Hub that build the capacity and capability of social enterprises and help individuals embed impact in their careers.

Key responsibilities include:

Program management

  • Working alongside the Head of Education and Capability Development, manage the operations and performance of Social Impact Hub’s programs and education initiatives, developing strategic and operational goals, measures and performance targets.
  • Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of key education programs and initiatives end to end.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of relevant program tools, resources, documentation, online platforms and communication, as required.
  • Conduct budget management, performance monitoring and project forecasting for respective initiatives within appropriate timeframes and against organisational expectations, as required.
  • Support the Head of Education and Capability Development to drive business development opportunities and relationships that support and grow SIH paid and funded education services, as required.
  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of respective education programs and initiatives, providing relevant input and insights to contribute to Social Impact Hub’s impact measurement framework and reporting.
  • Supervise and manage relevant team members as appropriate, including members of our Professional Impact Network.
  • Contribute to organisational strategy development, cross-portfolio collaboration and operational governance, as required.

Operational performance

  • Support the maintenance of integrated project planning systems, as well as organisational data management and reporting to provide timely and insightful business intelligence and ensure all activity is in line with strategic and operational planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with delivery partners, PIN members, clients, and key external stakeholders to support program implementation and ensure high quality client engagement and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our internal team to leverage synergies, ensure alignment with broader organisational work streams and drive collaboration to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Provide inputs and insights to support the ongoing implementation and improvement of quality management processes to ensure outstanding program management, client experience and high quality services.
  • Provide inputs and insights to support the implementation and continuous improvement of organisational systems and processes to support effective and efficient program delivery.

The exact list of responsibilities is flexible depending on the expertise and interests of the successful candidate. This role may have one to two direct reports and will leverage the Social Impact Hub’s Professional Impact Network (PIN) of 70+ experts to deliver services.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant context e.g., managing or leading incubators or accelerator programs and working with impact-focused organisations.
  • Considerable program / project management experience, including implementing program logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish meaningful and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to self-manage, be highly organised, manage simultaneous or competing deadlines, prioritise workload and work independently as well as be part of a team.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes in a growing organisation and evolving external environment.
  • Strong business acumen and an outcomes-focussed approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the organisation and our areas of work externally.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems (we use Zoho One).

Desired

  • General knowledge of at least one of the Social Impact Hub’s areas of work is preferred (i.e., impact investing, enterprise education, social enterprise development, impact measurement, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility etc).
  • Experience creating and supporting opportunities for peer learning.
  • It is also preferable that the candidate has some experience in working with small businesses, startups, social enterprises or not for profits and an understanding of design thinking.

REPORTING & REMUNERATION

The Programs Manager will report to Social Impact Hub’s Head of Education and Capability Development. Work plans and KPIs will be agreed on a quarterly basis in line with overall operational planning.

The role is based at the Social Impact Hub in Edgecliff, with likely 2 days per week working from home. We also support flexible work arrangements and applicants who would like to work shorter hours over 4 – 5 days are encouraged to apply.
