Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator will play a vital role in coordinating and expanding the philanthropic giving program, with a focus on cultivating strong relationships to secure essential funding for impactful projects and programs. This role will also focus on stewarding and converting major gift donors and advancing all aspects of prospect research, including major donors, private ancillary funds and trusts and foundations. Various communication channels such as face-to-face meetings, phone calls, presentations and written messages will be used to engage trustees, donors and other supporters.
  
You will use your strong writing skills to produce compelling submissions for grants and funding that align with strategic objectives, develop project proposals and meaningful impact reporting of outputs, outcomes and deliverables for donors. Your excellent relationship-building ability will help to build and manage long-lasting key relationships with increasing commitments of support. In collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator will develop an annual plan which will include success rates and income targets of trusts and foundations applications and feed this into the overall annual fundraising plan and targets. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to meet the needs of the business, identify projects and programs requiring funding.
  
About YOU

  • At least three years’ experience in business development or fundraising, or relevant experience equivalent to a postgrad degree,
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, including effective listening, empathy, discretion, diplomacy and the ability to build sustainable relationships,
  • Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills, and high-level presentation skills, with the maturity and capacity to communicate effectively with a diverse audience including senior staff, donors and their legal representatives,
  • Demonstrated experience in successful grant writing in a similar setting (experience in the health sector preferable),
  • You have emotional intelligence and are self-aware, inclusive, helpful, curious and committed to ongoing learning,
  • Able to work both independently and in teams to meet demanding timelines and expectations,
  • Have a current driver’s license,
  • FIA membership and CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) or fundraising qualifications and experience in healthcare philanthropy will be highly regarded.
