The Disability Justice Coordinator provides support to people who have a disability and are involved in the criminal justice system.
Are you?
- Knowledge and experience in disability case management with strong report writing, assessment andplanning skills?
- Experience working with clients who have complex and multiple support needs?
- Experience and /or an interest in the criminal justice system?
THE ROLE
The role of the Disability Justice Coordinator is to provide a coordinated response to people with a disability involved in the justice system who display significant and multiple complexities in accordance with relevant legislation and departmental practice guidelines, with the aim of reducing the likelihood of the person reoffending.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Coordinate support and services for clients involved in the justice system according to the allocation by the team leader by providing a comprehensive approach to decreasing the likelihood of the client reoffending.
- This coordination role includes complex and advanced assessments, implementing and reviewing justice-based plans and reports, as well as goal-setting, monitoring progress, and referrals.
- Operate as required by legislation and departmental standards and exercise the appropriate authorities and legal delegations pursuant to relevant legislation and other specific delegations and functions. This includes the implementation review of justice-related plans, programs and services and ensure an appropriate standard of care, supervision, safety and support is provided.
