Recreation Volunteer – Camp Quality, Kids’ Cancer Charity

Camp Quality brings positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer. Our programs and services help families build optimism and resilience through community, education and fun. We are there for kids (0-15) dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a sibling, parent, or carer, every step of the way.

The role of a Recreation Volunteer involves volunteering at Kids Camps, Family Camps and Family Fun Day. You’d be responsible for fostering fun and excitement at these programs, supporting children and fellow volunteers with encouragement and enthusiasm. This might look like cheering on a camper as they tackle their first giant swing, ensuring our iconic disco nights run smoothly, or supporting campers at the talent show as, together, you belt out a favourite song. This often results in plenty of smiles and giggles, and as we say – laughter is the best medicine.

Required Qualifications and training:

• WA Working with Children Check

• Camp Quality Volunteer Training

• Australian Childhood Foundation – Safeguarding Children & Young People training

• Any other training deemed necessary by Camp Quality

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience with or understanding of how to work with children

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and a demonstrated ability to use language that is

culturally appropriate, inclusive and respectful of diversity

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to be a collaborative team member
