About the role
About the role The Finance Manager plays a key role in managing the financial operations of the Governance Institute. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Finance function, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Management Team and the rest of the business to develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, control costs and improve financial performance. Key responsibilities
- Effectively manage a team of two to ensure optimal performance, retention and professional development.
- Provide sound financial analysis and support to the business to enable them to understand key business drivers and its impact on profitability.
- Prepare, review and analyse month end and quarterly reporting within set deadlines.
- Manage the fortnightly payroll processing.
- Deliver timely and accurate management reporting of actuals against forecast and budget; including clear and concise variance analysis and reporting of risks and opportunities.
- Calculate, prepare and lodge FBT, Payroll tax returns, Superannuation and GST Returns through accounting platform and relevant portals as required.
- Prepare the annual financial statutory statements in accordance with appropriate accounting standards.
- Prepare timely and reliable reporting for the Risk, Audit and Finance (RAF) Committee and Board meetings.
- Lead the annual external audit process and engagement with the External Auditors in carrying out their responsibilities.
- Proactively drive improvements to financial reporting processes.
- Support ad-hoc financial reporting requirements from key executives.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- 10+ years of accounting or other relevant experience.
- CPA, CIMA or CA qualified.
- Strong technical systems skills dealing with CRM, system integrations
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and take responsibility for delivering to plan and on time.
- Ability to embrace change in response to new initiatives, strategic direction or external requirements.
