About the role
Policy Officer – Volunteering Australia
Canberra/Hybrid working arrangements – Full-time or Part-time (min 25 hours per week)
Classification: SCHADS (level and remuneration dependent on experience)

We are looking for a Policy Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the national peak body for volunteering’s policy development and advocacy work across a range of policy areas.

About the role:
As a key member of Volunteering Australia’s Policy Team, you’ll lead and deliver impactful policy and advocacy projects. This role involves high-quality research, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and representing the organisation at a national level.
What you will bring:

Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, strategic policy and advocacy work.

Demonstrated strategic stakeholder engagement skills.

Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated capacity to work across diverse and complex policy areas and learn new subject matter quickly.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated capacity to undertake research including data analysis.
In addition to this, you will have:

High level organisational and project management skills.

High level IT and computer skills, including MS Office and Database applications.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
