About the role
This is a part-time Patient Liaison and Communications Officer position working 2 days per week at Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and communication to patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplant patients. This is an important role that contributes directly to the wellbeing and care of patients.
What you’ll be doing
- Growing Arrow’s patient support programs providing information and emotional support to patients and their carers
- Developing relationships with transplant patients and their carers nationally
- Collaborating with specialist transplant healthcare professionals
- Growing our ‘Transplant Tribe’ patient support group including coordination of sessions, recruitment and training of facilitators
- Coordinating regular patient information webinars including scheduling, coordination of speakers and promotion
- Developing new patient programs including the establishment of a patient Facebook support group and a patient digital resource information hub
- Distributing updated patient information including information guides and the Straight and Marrow podcast
- Supporting our Marketing Manager to identify and obtain patient stories
- Managing program expenditure to budget
- Promoting all patient support programs digitally and in print
- Seeking feedback from patients and carers to ensure our programs meet their needs
What we’re looking for
- Relevant healthcare or patient experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and connect with patients and families
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering programs
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology to support patient communications including video conferencing facilities and customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Ability to work independently and remotely as part of a small team
- Marketing, promotion and social media skills
