Are you passionate about amplifying lived experience, fostering community engagement, and creating meaningful change? Join our Wollongong based client as the Manager, Lived Experience and Community Engagement and help shape inclusive, trauma-informed services for women in our community.
About the Role
As Manager, Lived Experience and Community Engagement, you will ensure that lived expertise and Indigenous healing practices are integrated into programs. You will collaborate with diverse communities, advisory groups, and stakeholders to co-create solutions that empower women and drive social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Lived Experience Advisory Group and Aboriginal Women’s Advisory Group.
- Develop and implement a Lived Expertise Framework to embed lived experience in decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and key stakeholders.
- Advocate for marginalised voices and ensure community needs shape policy and program development.
- Represent the Centre at forums, events, and in the media as required.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment within the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
- Lived experience of domestic, family, and/or sexual violence.
- Strong community engagement experience, with a deep understanding of social justice and inclusion.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate lived experience into expertise that informs services and policies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to feminist and social justice principles.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in social work, public health, community development, or a related field.
- Prior experience in the not-for-profit sector.
- Fluency in a language other than English.
- Experience working with diverse communities, including LGBTIQA+, people with disabilities, and migrants.
