It believes that by leading with empathy, courage, curiosity, and compassion, people can live and learn together, and a greater understanding of grief will become possible.

About the role

The primary focus of this position is to develop, deliver, coordinate and facilitate accredited and non-accredited education , ensuring participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver a high standard of care. You will provide high level subject matter expertise and ensure that all resources and education delivery is evidence-informed, current and of the highest quality. It is a permanent position (0.8) and will require occasional interstate travel.

Key requirements for this specialist role include

  • Graduate level qualification in bereavement counselling;
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40110). At least five years’ experience as a counsellor;
  • Minimum of two years in teaching at a Tertiary level or within a Registered Training Organisation.
  • Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association, such as the AASW or the APS.
  • A good understanding of the grief and bereavement literature and of contemporary evidence-based practice.
