About the role

Events Coordinator

At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Events Coordinator to join our dedicated team.

Location: Fitzroy

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $90,962.92 to $97,875.15 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and reporting on events, both internal and external, in support of BSL’s objectives.

  • Develop and deliver required BSL events, and support departmentally driven event requirements, as needed – both internal and external; physical and virtual.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and craft recommendations in response, outlining proposed event strategies and delivery plans, including objectives, audiences, timings, logistics, resources, success metrics, etc
  • Ensure effective delivery of all logistical event requirements, including run-sheets, attendee lists, invitation creation and issuing, venue selection, bookings, facilities, AV, ticketing, seating, catering, RSVP management, speaker briefings, etc.
  • Respond to internal and external stakeholder enquiries in relation to events in a timely manner.
  • Communicate key information with relevant stakeholders when managing the BSL events calendar.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Relevant experience in event management and delivering successful events (minimum 4 years).
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to work calmly and under pressure within a complex portfolio of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in effective end-to-end management of an event.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met. 
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships and work with people from diverse backgrounds internally and externally.
  • Understanding of event accessibility requirements (desirable).
  • Experience working with culturally diverse communities
