Youth Worker

• Full Time Position (well almost full time 72hrs per fortnight) including sleepover shifts
• Located in Western Sydney

Marist Youth Care (www.maristyc.com.au) is a not for profit organisation focused on helping at risk young people. To support our young people MYC is seeking enthusiastic, resilient and reliable casual Youth Workers to join our team. With a number of different programs requiring Youth Workers the possibilities and diversity seem endless.

In this position you will work as part of a team to enhance the dignity, confidence, well-being and quality of life of the young people in our care. You will be an enthusiastic and understanding role model who engages in positive activities with young people and discourages anti-social behaviours. You may be involved in transporting clients to appointments, supporting them with development of their living skills and or educational support along with assisting with household chores. Our staff are rostered 24/7 and so availability including some weekends and s leepovers is essential.

For this position it is essential you have:

• A relevant qualification (min Certificate IV) in Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent
• An understanding of the issues and challenges of young people in care
• Min. 1 year experience working with young people in a residential setting
• Current NSW Drivers Licence
• NSW Working with Children Check Clearance
• Good computer skills
• WILLINGNESS TO WORK SHIFT WORK, INCLUDING SLEEPOVER AND WEEKEND SHIFTS
