Position Description
St Bartholomew’s House is seeking an individual with strong administrative and time management skills looking to make their mark in the provision of high quality tenancy management services to our clients.  The ability to build rapport with our diverse client base is a must, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.  A demonstrated capacity to implement policy and procedural change and to manage and resolve challenging situations is also essential. Previous experience in tenancy management would be an advantage, although appropriate training will be provided to the right applicant.

The Tenancy Officer is responsible for managing and monitoring a designated number of tenancies and residences.  This role will establish new tenancies, including showing properties, preparing lease agreements, lodging bond payments and orienting new tenants into their new home and local community.

The Tenancy Officer will be the first point of contact for tenants and will assist them in making arrangements to move in and out of properties.  They will be responsible for conducting inspections, preparing ingoing and outgoing property condition reports and acting on maintenance requests as required. The Tenancy Officer also liaises with services providing support to tenants including mental health and homecare services.

The Tenancy Officer will monitor rental accounts and work with tenants to address rental arrears as and when this occurs.  They will also manage breaches of the tenancy agreement in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act and St Bart’s policies and procedures.
