Corporate Community Takes Off

Thursday, 3rd October 2013

Yesterday we launched Corporate Community – a new part of our website that takes Pro Bono Australia one step further towards being a central hub for the activities and news around Australia’s Social Economy.

Already our Corporate Community Impact News Service which was launched earlier this year has over 9,000 subscribers signalling great interest in the issues.

We aim to keep Corporate – Community engagement in the public eye giving easy access to those who want to know more about it, options about how to engage with it and connections with companies already doing it.

We know too that Corporates are doing a lot that is not talked about in this area or shared with others and our conversations with them have shown a real desire to do so.

Research commissioned  by Pro Bono Australia and carried our by Essential Media polling in August this year showed that 68 per cent of Australians would like to be better informed about what CSR programs corporates are doing , 70 per cent would prefer to work for a company that had a strong CSR program and reputation and 70 per cent said that more companies should be investing in CSR programs.

32 per cent per cent also said that a company’s CSR programs were a consideration when making purchasing decisions.

Our thanks to the foundation companies that have come on board with us at this early stage including Westpac, NAB, Telstra, GE, BankMecu, Toyota, CPA Australia, Telstra Foundation, NAB, GE, Toyota Community Foundation and BankMecu. We look forward to welcoming more onboard in the coming months and years.

Please visit the new site and let us know your thoughts at news@probonoaustralia.com.au.
