About our Speakers
Liz Jewell, Northern Beaches Council
Liz has over 15 years experience working with volunteers for numerous organisations. Currently employed by Northern Beaches Council as Volunteer Coordinator, she’s involved in the recruitment and supervision of large numbers of volunteers for major events.
The Northern Beaches Council is a local government area located in the northern beaches region of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The Council was formed on 12 May 2016 replacing Manly, Pittwater and Warringah Councils.
Margaret O’Brien, Head of NFP, Peopleplan
Margaret currently works directly with NFP and social enterprise clients to help them create more social impact through the use of technology and online learning.
Previously, she spent 4 years at eLearning company Workstar before forming her own consulting business where she moved into the Not-for-profit and social enterprise sector. She is also the Co-Founder of Young Change Agents who teach social entrepreneurship to youth aged 10-18.
