The Organisation
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new bold independent Not-For-Profit organisation creating a different future for children, families and communities experiencing the greatest levels of disadvantage and inequity in Australia.

Children’s Ground is the first organisation of its kind in Australia. Children’s Ground works with a community over the course of a generation, led by local expertise, vision and intelligence. Together, we create and deliver a system of programs and services that are centred on learning, development and wellbeing that respond to the main life-stages and key transition points from pre-birth to young adulthood.

Our approach recognises the cultural, social and economic strength of communities and builds on this to equip children for opportunities locally, nationally and globally. Children and their families will learn, grow and thrive in communities that celebrate cultural, social and economic wellbeing.

The first Children’s Ground project is based in Jabiru and serves the Kakadu, West Arnhem region in the Northern Territory. This is a unique community-led project being implemented in partnership with Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation (GAC).

The Role – Director Partnerships and Investment
The Director, Partnerships and Investment is a senior role which is part of the Children’s Ground executive team. The role reports to the Managing Director. The Director will be responsible for leading the partnership and investment function:
• Working with the CEO and Managing Director to develop and implement the Children’s Ground funding strategy to grow philanthropic, corporate, government and donations income.
• In the context of that strategy, assisting in cultivating relations that:
o retain current supporters
o attract new supporters from the philanthropic, corporate, and government sectors
o develop and deploy cost efficient strategies to raise donations, including digital fundraising
• Review, develop and implement innovative fundraising and investment initiatives.
• Work closely with the Director Communications to maintain and develop stakeholder relationships.

The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will need to excel against the following requirements:
• A strong and extensive (i.e. substantial years) track record in fundraising and partnership development.
• A commitment and passion for social justice and overcoming entrenched disadvantage.
• Demonstrated high order skill in written communication.
• Demonstrated high order skills in managing partnership and donor relations.
• Proven ability to apply innovation and creativity to the fundraising and partnership space. Experience and understanding of digital fundraising.
• High level planning and organisation skills.
• Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position combined with substantial relevant experience.
