About the role
Multicultural Aged Care Inc. (MAC) is a non- government, not-for-profit, secular community-based organisation that specialises in providing person-centred, consumer directed home care services to frail-aged people and their carers from CALD backgrounds.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of Multicultural Aged Care’s Commonwealth Home Support Program services. The Program Manager will manage a case load of clients, provide leadership and supervision, and ongoing training & development support to ensure Multicultural Aged Care’s continued organisational growth and development. This role will need to understand and confidently sell the benefits of the organisation’s services against competitors and possess the skills to actively seek business development opportunities.
SALARY: In accordance with SCHADS Awards 2010; Level and Grade in accordance with applicant’s skills, knowledge and experience. Generous packaging available.
Skills, Experience and Competencies
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and competencies in providing person centered consumer directed care
- Ability to engage with frail elderly people and a demonstrated understanding of their needs
- Ability to coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of services
- Experience in working with budget & service delivery parameters
- Effective negotiation, networking and problem-solving skills with a flexible outlook to ensure quality outcomes for clients
- Good administrative and computer skills to maintain client files, write reports, and submit DEX
- Effective management of quality/continuous improvement, risk and compliance processes
- Effective communication, organisational, time management and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to support and supervise Bilingual Support staff
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- A current drivers license and own vehicle
Desirable Criteria
- Applied knowledge of CHSP program and enabling consumers to achieve independence
- A genuine commitment to Aged and Home Care and philosophies of Multicultural Aged Care
- Experience in the Community Care sector
- Current First Aid Certificate or a willingness to complete course
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Demonstrated experience in working with people with dementia
