About the role
CatholicCare works on behalf of the community in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and Diocese of Sale and seeks to achieve “life to the full” for those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.
We are currently looking for an experienced Post Separation Cooperative Parenting Practitioner to join our Post Separation Cooperative Parenting program based in our Traralgon office. To improve the management of relationship difficulties by separated or divorced families and provide group workshops, counselling services, information and referral support.
Reporting to the Manager Family and Relationships Programs Gippsland this role will be involved in but not limited to:
• Ensure parents are aware of children’s needs in relation to age-appropriate emotions, physical and social needs and ensure the children best interests are paramount in any consideration of parenting arrangements
• Provide information, advice and referral to other services to individuals and couples seeking assistance with relationship and separation issues and assist in the resolution of these issues in the best interest of the child/children
• Build and maintain active networks with stakeholders within the post-separation/Family Law context in the catchment area including links to legal practitioners, Federal Circuit Court, Family Court, and relevant agencies
• Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity towards the complex needs of parents and children in the context of separation
• Ensure data collection and reports are prepared as required.
The successful applicant will possess:
• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or relevant to community welfare practice (such as Psychology, Social Science etc.)
• Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment
• Minimum five years’ experience and in post separation support services.
