About the role

• Offered as full-time (38 hours) per week but part-time or flexible hours negotiable.

• Based in Warrnambool, working across the South West Coast, with occasional state-wide travel.

About Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic)
YACVic is the state’s peak body and leading policy advocate on young people’s issues. Funded by the Victorian Government, YACVic Rural increases our state-wide advocacy and support for young people in rural communities and the rural youth sector. YACVic Rural operates from offices in Warrnambool and Swan Hill. One Rural Development Coordinator works from each site, supported by the Rural Manager and the wider YACVic staff team.

About the role
In partnership with local organisations and service providers, and working closely with the Rural team, the YACVic Rural Development Coordinator (Warrnambool) works across the Great South Coast region to
• coordinate policy consultation and research with local young people and youth practitioners; and
• provide training and capacity-building opportunities for local youth services and communities.
This is a rare, career-enhancing opportunity for someone to make their mark on the Victorian youth and community sector.

You will have:
• community development, youth work, social work or education skills;
• experience in working with young people;
• experience in organising and facilitating groups and/or events;
• a desire to improve outcomes for rural and regional communities.
