About the role:
The People and Workplace Services Officer provides administrative support to the People and Workplace Services. More specifically, in this role you will assist with:
• Recruitment and selection processes including advertisements, documentation for interview panels such as candidate packs, setting interview times, assisting with question design for interviews and referee assessments, acknowledgements to applicants, notifying and providing feedback to unsuccessful applicants, alternative selection techniques
• Position descriptions – update, central register, position numbers
• Employment contracts and associated paperwork including criminal history checks, qualifications and licences verifications
• Employee reports including leave liability
• On boarding resources and documentation
• Performance appraisals and development
• Organisation and planning of training activities
What we are looking for:
We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals with experience in a similar role working with Aboriginal people. Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including internal and external customer service, and conflict resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, this includes working cross culturally.
• Excellent organisation and planning skills for managing and prioritising competing demands.
• Ability to be adaptable with strong problem solving skills.
• High level computer skills.
• Desirable – Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant tertiary training.
• Desirable – General understanding of current issues relating to working and living in remote Aboriginal communities
