About the role

• Innovative Leader
• Results Driven
• Committed to the pursuit of Purpose as well as Profit

Social Enterprise Finance Australia (SEFA) is seeking an energetic, experienced professional for the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to grow an innovative social finance organisation in Australia. SEFA provides loan finance to social enterprises – not-for-profit and purpose driven for-profit organisations – on a commercial basis. Our loan finance unlocks opportunities for our clients to better achieve their mission, and in doing so improves outcomes for communities across Australia. This is an underserved sector in terms of finance, which provides a significant market opportunity for SEFA; our loanbook has doubled each year and we are looking for a leader to drive the next phase of our growth.

This is a Sydney-based leadership role for an organisation with a national mandate. It will suit someone with strong commercial and financial skills who wants the opportunity to pursue both profit and purpose in their career. You will have an entrepreneurial spirit who can inspire others and thrive in the challenges of an exciting business.

The CEO will work autonomously and is responsible for all aspects of the organisation. You will report to a strong and actively engaged board who are passionate about the cause. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion and willingness to support a growing and vibrant social enterprise sector through development of innovative lending solutions. You will have high-level financial, strategic and analytical skills and experience in managing projects and people, including financial management and reporting.

You will have the ability to identify, collaborate with and leverage existing community networks to build community capacity, engagement and ownership. Strong communication and relationship building skills, together with a strong background in fundraising and investing, will be put to full use to promote the organisation and its goals.
