About the role

Heartbeat of Football (HOF) is a not-for-profit organisation established in early 2016 by Andy Paschalidis. It aims to promote healthy hearts in sport via player education, the minimisation of health risks and the installation of defibrillators as well as ensure there is an appropriate level of CPR knowledge and training on all sporting fields around the country.

The Role

Heartbeat of Football is seeking a General Manager who will take responsibility for the overall delivery of the Heartbeat of Football strategy, the implementation of Heartbeat of Footballs Mission and the management of the Business Plan whilst ensuring the governance policies required for a Charitable Foundation are supported and maintained.

Heartbeat of Football has just begun its journey and is looking for a professional General Manager who has the passion and the experience required to transition this registered Non-for-Profit organisation into a mature Foundation that is widely recognised as being an authority on safe mature age sport participation.

The CEO reports to the Heartbeat of Footballs Board of Directors and is responsible for:
• Implementing the Heartbeat of Footballs strategy and business plan.
• Leading business development activities including income generation.
• Leading the Heartbeat of Footballs team and nurturing the organisation culture.
• Implementing appropriate governance and reporting practices.

Skills Required

The successful candidate will require:

• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated people management experience through either paid of volunteering leadership roles
• Effective relationship management skills to work with a diverse range of stakeholders
• A passion to make a difference and a belief in safe sports participation particularly for those of mature age

The successful candidate will have:

• Business and finance skills, including experience in strategic planning and reporting
• An ability to help generate revenue both through key sponsors and partners as well as through managing a consistent and well-organised calendar of events.
• The ability to make Heartbeat of Football grow into a mature, well-funded and well-respected Foundation that is very well known for being an authority in heart health related matters in mature age sports participation.
