About the role
The Youth and Homelessness service area within MercyCare are seeking a dynamic, values based leader to join our leadership team in the full time role of Co-ordinator Youth Services North.
The Co-ordinator Youth Services North is responsible for day to day operations of the programs within Youth and Homelessness based from Mirrabooka office and for the region north of the river. These programs include Aboriginal Youth Services (AYS), Family Mental Health Support Services (FMHSS), Reconnect and Education and Training Participation Plan (ETPP).
The Co-ordinator Youth Services North will oversee case management for young people and adults, human resources, monitoring of financial resources, reporting, ongoing program development and continuous improvement processes.
Applicants with Psychology or Social Work registration or eligibility for registration will be highly regarded. Applicants who meet the selection criteria, who are from diverse backgrounds and have experience working in community services are encouraged to apply.
Minimum requirements
Please refer to the selection criterion in the position description, some of which includes the below:
• Tertiary (university) qualification in social or behavioural science or human services (e.g. psychology, social work, youth work, social sciences etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of counselling, intervention techniques and service models, particularly as they apply to children, young people and their families.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising a team.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the coordination of services. This includes the development of policy and procedures relevant to service provision and case management.
• Knowledge and experience in monitoring, reporting on and taking appropriate action to maintain and improve service delivery whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, procedures and professional standards. This includes monitoring of budgets, human resources and reporting on performance indicators
