About the role

Samaritans, the welfare and social justice arm of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Newcastle, assists people to make positive changes in their lives. Over 100 services are provided to those in need throughout the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, and Mid-North Coast regions of NSW as well as in Mudgee in the Central West. All of Samaritans’ work is underpinned by values of Compassion, Integrity, and Justice. Samaritans is seeking values-based change leaders who are strategic, collaborative and driven by a passion for social justice.

The Executive Manager, Organisational Effectiveness is responsible and accountable for the effective and efficient leadership of Corporate Services to achieve efficient and compliant services to internal and external stakeholders, while promoting a culture of collaboration and customer service. They will lead the provision of corporate services that support and enhance the operations of Samaritans frontline and central areas, maintaining high standards of delivery and support. Specifically, the Executive Manager, Organisational Effectiveness will be responsible and accountable for the following functional areas:

• Finance
• Information and Technology
• Human Resources
• Marketing and Relationships
• Infrastructure

To be considered you will possess a relevant tertiary qualification along with extensive Executive level experience leading a corporate service function. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in leading successful transformational programs as Samaritans seeks to deliver efficient and effective services in a changing policy and funding environment. As a leader you will inspire, challenge and support others to reach high performance standards and drive a culture that promotes ideas and organisational excellence. You will be collaborative in your approach, a person who has an appetite and openness for encouraging learning and innovation and for delivering quality outcomes.

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. As a faith-based organization candidates will require a deep understanding and a shared commitment to articulating the Samaritans’ Mission as it responds to social injustice.
