About the role
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission is recruiting an APS6 Communications and Media Officer
within the Education and Public Affairs team. Education and Public Affairs staff inform and educate registered charities
about their obligations under the ACNC Act, ensure registered charities receive timely reminders to help them meet
their obligations, promote safe giving by searching the Charity Register and maintain the ACNC’s online presence
through management of acnc.gov.au and our social media accounts.
We’re looking for candidates that have a broad range of communications experience. This includes media relations,
social media management, direct communications, events management, campaign and brand management,
stakeholder engagement, design, publishing and content development, and digital communication platforms.
Experience in private, not-for-profit or government environments is welcomed.
You will need to be flexible, responsive, and resilient and enjoy working in a complex, fast paced environment. Having a
strong knowledge and appreciation of the issues facing the not-for-profit sector and the work of the ACNC is required.
Candidates must be able to identify communications opportunities for the ACNC and know how to capitalise on these,
