About the role

Villa Maria Catholic Homes is seeking a Direct Care Coordinator to manage the direct care services in line with funded plans for participants with a range of disabilities. This role is responsible for the coordination of a small team, to match the appropriate service of direct care to our participants to ensure effective, efficient and person centred support. This is a newly created, ongoing full time position based at Kew.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
Identifying current and projected staffing requirements for direct care services;
Manage recruitment of direct care staff to meet these needs;
Oversee the engagement, rostering, training and performance of the direct care staff in line with client support plans;
Provide supervision and direction to a small team to ensure the smooth running of the function;
Liaise with SEEDS Service Advisor to identify direct care options for potential clients;
Ensure clients are matched with appropriate staff to meet their direct care as identified;
Oversee the rostering process to ensure adequate staff coverage at all times;

You will need to demonstrate:
Certificate IV and/or significant experience working with or supporting people with complex needs;
Demonstrated knowledge of current industry trends, individualised funding and service options and opportunities for people with disabilities.
Sound knowledge of the Disability Act 2006, NDIA/NDIS Victoria, The Victorian Charter of Human Rights, Disability State Plan
Knowledge of complex conditions that impact on people with disabilities and their carers and the capacity to keep up to date with best practice guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds
Experience managing a fast-paced environment, ideally in a community or disability services setting
