About the organisation

About the role

  • Based in Blacktown NSW, with interstate travel required

About the company:

Marist180 (www.marist180.org.au) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to empowering people with skills, knowledge, practical support and encouragement. We strive to care for all who need support and hope, from people without a home to those seeking asylum. Join Our Team and support our commitment to empowering people to take steps to achieve positive change.

About the role:

This is a brilliant opportunity to lead and grow a passionate, dedicated team to deliver great employment outcomes for disadvantaged people in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Overseeing the Employment and Training section of Marist180 (formerly Marist Youth Care), you will find ways to innovate and bring in revenue streams to support our aims. You will manage teams delivering results on outcomes based employment services including our leading VTEC (Aboriginal employment program), but also have oversight of managing and growing our award winning social enterprises that generate jobs for people locked out of the labour market.

About you:

You’ll be a great communicator, an inspiring leader and be able to identify and develop partnership opportunities with other delivery organisations, employers and more.

You will have a great understanding of the factors influencing underemployment in different social groups – particularly young people, Aboriginal people, and newly arrived migrants. You’ll be able to guide a team to deliver hard targets without compromising quality or holistic service delivery.

Skilled at time management and juggling varied and competing demands, you’ll have a real chance to create new and innovative projects and the ability to implement and deliver them.

Essential:

  • Experience of delivering on outcomes based employment services
  • Ability to design programs that meet the needs of people experiencing problems engaging with the labour market
  • Ability to build fruitful and ongoing partnerships internally and externally
  • Values that match the commitment of Marist180 to empowering people to create positive change

Desirable:

  • Experience of the Australian social enterprise sector
  • Understanding of the vocational training sector

In return you will have a job with genuine scope to make a social impact, a great salary complete with NfP salary packaging options, and will join a team that is innovative, passionate and supportive.
