About the organisation
About the role
The Youth Frontiers Mentoring Program is an initiative of the NSW State Government that engages self nominated young people in Year 8 and 9 in a quality mentoring relationship with a focus on building confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills.
Southern Sydney Business Education Network (SSBEN), is implementing this program across 11 electorates in the Sydney Region.
SSBEN link students with screened and trained adult mentors who help them to build life skills and overcome barriers to participating in their communities.
To recognise the contribution young people make in their local communities, students are encouraged to work with their mentor collaboratively on a community project of mutual interest. The student is the driver of this project, not the mentor, teaching them valuable life skills.
The student can choose a project from themes such as:
*Community Harmony
*Empowering Women
*Sport
*Environment
*Anzac
*Youth Mental Health and there is a General category.
We provide free training and ongoing support.
