Our client is Victoria’s oldest day service for adults with an intellectual disability. They believe that people with a disability should be able to live in an inclusive community, supported by people who genuinely care for them, and have the same opportunities to participate in community life.

 

About the role

Our client, who provides support for adults with an intellectual disability, has an opportunity for an extremely organised Accounts Officer to join their organisation on a part-time basis.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working very closely with administration volunteers, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, positive and empathetic and work closely with people and their families to build better lives for those with intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing all accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices and statements
  • Administering the fortnightly payroll (HR3)
  • Producing monthly client invoices
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • General journal entries
  • Maintaining share registers
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and annual budgets
  • Relief reception on daily basis

 

To be successful in this role, you must have at least 3 years experience in a similar role and be extremely proficient in MYOB, Word and Excel. You will be highly efficient and skilled in managing a variety of tasks in a flexible and positive manner.

In addition, you will possess excellent communication and time management skills, be extremely accurate, have a high level of attention to detail as well as being extremely patient with volunteers and have the ability to handle customer complaints.

It would be highly desirable if you have previous experience working in a not for profit or charity organisation, as would the ability to work with disabled people. Candidates who have exposure to Enrite Care will be highly regarded.
