About the role

The organisation provides innovative services, is an advocate for people with dementia and their families and plays a key role in research, education and policy development working with government to understand more about the condition and to address the needs of those who are impacted.

The National Board of Alzheimer’s Australia, has begun the process of bringing the State and Territory Alzheimer’s Associations, which formed Alzheimer’s Australia in 1989, together in one unified national body which will be known as Dementia Australia. The new body is targeted to come into being following final sign off in the first half of 2017. A national organisational structure is to be implemented and the organisation is now seeking to hear from candidates interested in appointment to the executive team.
Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director Fundraising, Media and Marketing will lead the marketing, fundraising, media and communications teams maximising the opportunity of a national fundraising strategy and the promotion of the organisation and its reputation for excellence. The role works with a wide array of external stakeholders and has regular dealings with the Board and senior leaders across the organisation, particularly in respect of the unification project.

Applicants wishing to be considered for the opportunity will need to be experienced strategic leaders with a commitment to the organisations Purpose and Values and attributes including:
• Significant experience and demonstrated success managing at least two of the functions: Media, Marketing and Fundraising with proven understanding of the third
• Ability to persuasively articulate the merits and interrogate potential shortfalls of strategic media, marketing or fundraising proposals
• Working knowledge of the rapidly changing external and technological factors in the media marketing and fundraising environments, and how they might impact areas of business responsibility
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills for the creation of reports, correspondence and other material.
