About the role
Seniors Rights Victoria (www.seniorsrights.org.au) is the leading state-wide organisation tackling elder abuse. Elder abuse is a critical social justice issue and a form of family violence intersecting with ageism. This position is a rare opportunity to contribute to community coalitions and structures to prevent elder abuse across various service sectors; non-government and government. The project has a community development approach.
We seek a skilled, organised and enthusiastic person to:
• Provide guidance and expert advice to lead agencies to develop and implement a local elder abuse prevention strategy;
• Support lead agencies to establish or strengthen existing elder abuse networks in Victoria of local agencies and community representatives working together to prevent elder abuse
• Organise awareness raising activities
This is a full time position for 21 months. The annual salary for this position is $65,500 to $70,700, depending on experience. Salary packaging is available up to $15,900.
