Alfred Health Carer Services is seeking a tertiary qualified health professional / manager to join our management team. Key responsibilities include overseeing program operations and direct staff supervision, as well as broader management roles within the Mental Health, Young Carer, Disability Team, site management roles and participation in the Centre’s Operational Management Team

About the role

Coordinator position – Mental Health Young Carer Program

• Salary: Equivalent to Health Professional Grade 3 PLUS Salary Packaging
• Contracts to 30th June, 2018 with extensions dependent on further funding
• Fulltime position

Alfred Health Carer Services is seeking a tertiary qualified health professional / manager to join our management team. Key responsibilities include overseeing program operations and direct staff supervision, as well as broader management roles within the Mental Health, Young Carer, Disability Team, site management roles and participation in the Centre’s Operational Management Team.

The role covers two program areas across our three sites (Caulfield, Dandenong and Frankston).
Young Carer Program
The Young Carer Program is a Respite Service for young people under the age of 18 who provide support to a parent, a friend or sibling with a long term illness, a disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol issue or is frail or aged.

Mental Health Program
This program provides short term case work to carers of people with severe mental illness, referring and linking them to appropriate community services.
The program also has a service development focus, identifying gaps in services for carers and developing ways to address them.

Specific responsibilities of both programs include supervision of 8 staff, ongoing program development and collaboration with service partners and preparation of service activity and financial reports as required by funding bodies.

Successful applicants will have experience in program management and staff supervision, and possess considerable skills in motivating others and ‘making things happen’. Commitment to professional practice and a supportive work environment is essential.
