About the role

Title: Policy & Advocacy Manager
Sector: Not-for-profit
Location: Sydney
Employment type: Permanent full-time

• Develop and implement the policy, advocacy and research strategy for a NFP dedicated to improving corporate governance
• Have impact in promoting the interests of independent investors
• Optimise the influence of independent investors with ASX200 boards and regulators

You will:

• lead the delivery of Australian Shareholders’ Association’s (ASA) policies, key company monitoring activities, advocacy, research and other related activities
• engage our volunteer cohort to pursue the public good of protecting the interests of Australian independent investors
• develop ASA’s substantive policy statements and position papers on company and governance issues
• represent ASA externally with the government, regulators or other relevant bodies
• create content that can be published in different channels reflecting ASA’s policy positions.

About you
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in the corporate sector, policy, law or financial services
• Good communicator with excellent written and verbal communication
• Relationship management skills, including the ability to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders, including volunteers
• Excellent organisational skills, time management and analytical skills
• Demonstrated team player with a strong solution-focused approach
• Knowledge of corporate governance, ASX listed companies and financial statements

This is a full-time position, working with a small, dedicated team. The role reports to the CEO and comes with a competitive salary.
