The Role
SASHS is seeking to employ a full time Parenting Support Practitioner within the Children and Parenting Support Service (CaPSS) Program. This outreach role will provide parenting support to vulnerable parents and children, facilitate groupwork and group parenting programs with a focus on 0-12yo age group.
Specialist Competencies
• Knowledge of lifestyle pressures faced by people who are disadvantaged in the community
• Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical frameworks that underpin attachment theory and trauma informed practice
• Ability to identify and implement case management processes
• Demonstrated ability to meet professional expectations of ethical, effective and accountable interventions
• Understanding and recognition of potential indicators of trauma associated with developmental status of children and adolescents
• Ability to facilitate groupwork with a wide variety of client groups and on a wide variety of topics
Skills/Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare or a related field (Degree Qualification preferred)
• Related experience in a social service environment
