The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) is a leading conservation organisation globally and WWF Singapore’s conservation department is responsible for the strategy, activities and conservation results of WWF Singapore that are achieved nationally and internationally. WWF Singapore also has a focus on delivering corporate responsibility partnerships, individual/ major donor fundraising and community engagement for WWF’s priority conservation activities in Singapore and the rest of WWF’s global network. Income generated by the office is on course to triple over the next 4 years.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the Conservation Department and the development of a high impact conservation programme that spans Singapore and Southeast Asia. In pioneering modern conservation solutions, this position requires a strong grasp of environmental sustainability issues, and an entrepreneur’s approach in engaging corporate, government and public stakeholders. You will spearhead market transformational initiatives in the palm oil, forestry and food sectors, maintaining a pipeline of programs across Asia and seeing the projects through to implementation.

 

Skills Required

You must possess an in- depth knowledge of conservation and environmental sustainability issues and have at least ten years of experience in the fields of conservation and natural resource management in the forestry, marine or consumer sectors, with at least three years in a leadership and management position. You should have a higher degree (PhD preferred) in Environmental Science/Sustainability, Natural Sciences/ Engineering, Economics/Business or related fields. You must have high ethical standards of behaviour, respect for others, and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
