About the role
Following the appointment of a new national President and Board, the YWCA is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual as its inaugural Managing Director/CEO. This person will provide executive leadership of the newly merged YWCA, and together with the President and Board, will determine and implement the strategic direction for the YWCA over the next five years and beyond. The Managing Director (MD) will play a pivotal role in building a cohesive, collaborative and highly effective national YWCA. They will lead a future-focused organisation; navigating challenges to create meaningful societal change.
This role will require vision, passion and resilience. Candidates will need to have demonstrated strong strategic capability and executive leadership within a large and complex (preferably, “for purpose”) organisation, as the national YWCA will have combined assets in excess of $60M and over 250 staff across more than 15 locations throughout Australia. The MD will possess sound governance and business acumen and will have had experience in leading structural and cultural change, whilst effectively managing risk. They will understand the dynamics of the policy, political and social environment in which the YWCA operates. The MD will also possess excellent negotiation and advocacy skills. They will have the capacity to build a national YWCA brand and to position it for impact and growth.
This position could be based in any Australian capital city.
