•Works directly with young people through one-on-one support and group programs
•Creates leadership and participation opportunities for young people
•Supports others to work more effectively with young people
•Undertakes research and advocates for young people at local, state and national levels

About the role

Working across a range of program areas, the Volunteer and Project Support Officer is responsible for promoting program areas to potential volunteers; recruiting and screening volunteers; maintaining effective systems for the recruitment and support of volunteers, including IT systems and coordinating the registration of volunteers for training. The role is also focused on providing administrative support to the delivery of the various program areas.

The successful applicant will have:
•Demonstrated experience in administration, and in volunteer recruitment, community engagement or sales.
•Highly developed organisational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks efficiently and work to deadlines.
•Good cross cultural verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to liaise with diverse range of people including young people, volunteers and external organisations.
•High level proficiency with a range of software programs including: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with the ability to use a range of technologies including web based information and data systems.
•A demonstrated commitment to CMY’s principles of diversity, human rights and participation.
