The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations is the peak organisation in the disability sector representing people with lived experience of disability. Our member organisations are run by people with lived experience of disability. AFDO works to develop a community where people with disability can participate in all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life. This includes genuine participation in mainstream community life, the development of respectful and valued relationships, social and economic participation and the opportunity to contribute as valued citizens.

About the role

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who has highly developed project management skills to fulfil this role.  You will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, and the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Reporting to the CEO and working autonomously, you will work with the CEO to manage the AFDO & Member Sustainability program which involves working with AFDO and its Full member organisations to explore and advise on funding opportunities, coordinate consultant placements with AFDO & members, and coordinate four Member Sustainability meetings each year.

Personal experience of disability and/or experience working with people with disability would be highly regarded.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week, and AFDO is able to offer a base salary between $65 – $70K per annum full time (pro rata for 22.5 hours per week)with salary packaging available to reduce your tax & increase your take home pay!  We offer a flexible work environment where staff can work remotely, and any work days between Christmas and New Year are provided as complimentary leave in addition to your standard leave entitlements.

Ideally, we are seeking the candidate to commence September 2018.
