About the organisation

Organisation Name : HEART RESEARCH AUSTRALIA

Heart Research Australia’s goal is to reduce the devastating impact of heart disease on families and the community. Our focus is seed-funding for cardiac researchers to investigate new areas of research.  First-stage funding allows researchers to turn their innovative, ‘out of the notebook’ ideas into reality.

Heart Research Australia also provides scholarships for PhD students whose research work is supervised by leading cardiac researchers. In this way, the organisation plays an integral role in nurturing and developing some of Australia’s most promising heart scientists.

Senior researchers are also practicing cardiologists, which puts them in the best position to identify research opportunities and translate discoveries ‘on the bench’ into benefits for patients ‘at the bedside’. The breakthroughs researchers make, contribute to reducing the deadly impact of heart disease in Australia and around the world.

About the role

  • Work with the CEO, Cardiac researchers and the Board to build vital funding for heart research
  • Relationship focused role

The Philanthropy Manager reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for leading the organisation’s high level giving program.

The role undertakes research, planning and execution of approaches to new and existing donors, aimed at increasing engagement and revenue for world class research.

This key role requires outstanding planning, networking and influencing skills. The successful candidate will be outcome driven, highly organized, people orientated and passionate about heart research.

Tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded but not essential.

This is a 4 day a week role and a market rate remuneration package will be negotiated.
