Who we are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.
SVA’s Consulting team supports leaders to make hard decisions, galvanises teams to sustain success and shares insights with the social sector. We have more than 40 staff in our consulting team with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Since 2007, we have developed unique, on-the-ground experience supporting over 300 clients through 900 engagements. We work on society’s most challenging issues including housing, employment, education, mental health, disability, and Indigenous disadvantage.
The Principal, Consulting role is a senior role in our consulting team and a member of SVA’s Leadership Team. It is a true stepping stone to Director, Consulting where consultants have a depth of expertise in team and client management, while developing sector knowledge and thought leadership. The role leads the formulation and implementation of strategic recommendations to improve the performance of our clients while focusing on client development, project leadership, contributing to growing SVA’s Consulting business and developing our people to be world-class.
Who you are
We are looking for dynamic, self-driven individuals able to think creatively in developing innovative solutions to complex problems. With expertise leveraging strategic tools and methodologies, you will come to the role with a successful track record working closely with CEO or Executive Teams in translating problems into project opportunities. Principals joining SVA traditionally are in good standing with a recognised strategy consulting firm. A solid breadth of experience in team management and leadership, relationship management, business development and project management will see you be successful in this role. Experience in government and/or expertise in Evaluation will be a distinct advantage.
This unique role provides exposure to challenging and rewarding opportunities across the social sector working on society’s most important challenges. You will collaborate with a highly committed team with a breadth of expertise across the social sector. The focus of this role will see you forging close relationships with inspiring clients, sector leaders, colleagues and stakeholders.
