Split between external ventures and internal ventures SVA’s Venture Philanthropy portfolio enables a community of engaged philanthropists to support high impact social ventures that improve the lives of people in need in Australia. We help innovative external social ventures to become stronger and more impactful while also incubating innovative approaches as internal ventures to enhance shared learning across the sector. SVA currently has a suite of internal employment focused ventures that drive improved outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage in the Australian labour market.
SVA has a rare and rewarding opportunity for a Director in our Ventures team to lead and develop SVA’s suite of innovative employment ventures. The purpose of the position is to direct and manage a suite of innovative employment ventures delivering on outcomes, budgets, stakeholder relationships, business development and team performance. The position also guides thought leadership, positioning and developing SVA’s employment work, research and emerging innovation – all focused on increasing economic participation of people experiencing disadvantage. As part of SVA’s Leadership Team, the role also contributes to the implementation of SVA’s strategic plan.
Who you are
In this exciting and engaging opportunity, we are looking for a multi-faceted leader with a breadth of experience across the social sector and ideally in Employment or an aligned sector context. You will come to the role with established experience managing substantial, complex projects and negotiating and solving problems with wide-ranging stakeholders. Proven success building cross-sector collaborations and partnerships combined with solid business development skills will see you be effective in this position. A solid base of sector knowledge of Employment, including detailed understanding of the key issues, key stakeholders and on the ground experience will be a distinct advantage in this position.
As a Director at SVA you will collaborate with a highly-committed team with a breadth of expertise across the business and social sectors. The focus of this role will see you forging close relationships with inspiring clients, sector leaders, colleagues and stakeholders working on society’s most important challenges.
