About the organisation
Today, there are more refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people worldwide than at any time since World War II. That’s more than 65 million people forced to flee their homes to escape conflict and disaster.
It’s a terrible injustice. And one that we can, and must, overcome.
We believe that when people all over the world work together, big changes really are possible. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to act in partnership with other passionate people, like you, across the globe to achieve safety, justice and dignity in communities threatened by conflict and disaster. We don’t think there’s any task more important.
Since 1949 our supporters have provided food, shelter, education, healthcare and training to help the world’s most vulnerable prepare for, cope with and recover from crisis.
Together we’re tackling the root causes of injustice, and are building a brighter future for everyone. We hope that you’ll join us in this vital mission.
About the role
You’re a highly driven, tech-savvy, experienced digital specialist with a track record of success. Strategic, curious and with an eye for detail you’re looking for a broad and challenging role that’s both technical and creative in which you can take real ownership over your work and see tangible results. Most of all, you’re looking for a position that will give you the opportunity to use your digital skills to make a real difference to the lives of others.
Working with content produced by colleagues in the fundraising and communications teams, you’ll take the lead on driving performance on all digital marketing platforms, measured by increasing awareness, acquiring new supporters, deepening engagement and growing fundraising income. You’ll be setting the strategies and plans, long-term and short, and then making them happen.
You’ll develop, deliver, test and optimise our digital advertising using content provided by others. You’ll improve the functionality and performance of our website, organic search and email. And you’ll work with colleagues to ensure our supporter journeys are seamlessly integrated on and offline.
You’ll do a lot of the doing yourself, leveraging your technical and creative skills, with support from the team and vendors, but sometimes by working with consultants and agencies. Informed by analytics, you’ll work with content producing teams to influence content development to make it work to its greatest potential on each platform. You’ll make sure it all looks great, connects together properly and is consistent everywhere.
Working with an existing solid base of technology platforms that are integrated to enable scale, we continue to invest and develop them to further extend and grow our digital capabilities and enable rich supporter experiences. This role plays an integral part to this ongoing growth.
You’ll be working with a motivated and experienced team with an ambitious marketing and communication strategy and growth targets to match – and you’ll be making a big and growing contribution to communities affected by conflict and disaster.
