Board Director

Action on Poverty is currently seeking at least two new directors to join the Board and provide strategic guidance on the development of the organisation.

Strategic Direction

We are preparing to take the next step in our development. This will require energy, focus and determination to strengthen each of our strategic pillars. We need:

1. Programs that have greater impact and better management than ever before;

2. Partnerships that deliver new levels of value;

3. To Engage more Australians in new and more meaningful ways; and

4. A Sustainable business model that will ensure results grow over the long term.

We have recently changed our name, hired new leadership, and are now seeking to add new skills to our board. In this period of change we are seeking directors that are passionate about our cause and can help lead us through this next phase of development.

Director Responsibilities

In addition to sound governance skills and experience, directors will be expected to:

• attend board and sub-committee meetings held in Sydney;

• be a member of at least 1 board sub-committee;

• actively participate in strategic planning, AGMs, fundraising events, conferences, and other relevant meetings and events;

• provide mentoring and advisory support to the senior management team as requested; and

• assist in identifying and developing potential funding relationships.

All board positions are voluntary.

Current Vacancies

We are currently seeking at least two new board directors with skills in either: international development programs and operations; relationship development with foundations, trusts, and corporations; or business strategy and leadership.
