About the role
Community Development Worker, On-going
15 hours per week, Social and Community Services Employee level 5.1
Background
Creeds Living and Learning Centre is a neighbourhood house in the culturally diverse growth area of Epping North. Our objectives are to provide opportunities for lifelong learning; to foster environmental stewardship and practices and to enhance community connection and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Identify CFLLC member and local community needs and interest through research and consultation.
Develop, plan and implement programs based on members’ and local community needs and interests.
Deliver programs through the most appropriate mechanisms, including partnerships and/or through contractors and/or volunteers.
Produce and distribute a quarterly CFLLC newsletter.
Provide social media content to promote the work of CFLLC.
Identification of funding sources and preparing funding submissions for CFLLC community development programs.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience and success in a Community Development Worker role.
Previous success in undertaking social research and program/project evaluation.
Previous success in developing and implementing community engagement programs.
Previous success in volunteer engagement and management practices.
High level oral and written communication skills.
High level interpersonal and group work communication skills.
Previous success in working with diverse individuals and groups.
Previous production of desktop published newsletters
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work under limited direction.
High level competency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of responsibilities in creating and maintaining Child Safe environments.
Qualifications
A tertiary Community Development Work qualification will be highly regarded.
Organisational relationships
The position reports to the Manager and works under general direction.
The position supervises volunteers and contractors as required.

CFLLC is a signatory to the NHACE Collective Agreement 2018.
The role requires a Working With Children Check and a Police Check.
